With the summer approaching the routine heat follows right along with it. To keep us nice and cool we have been experiencing water and all it uses. We learned that water is used for drinking, taking a bath, and playing. We provided the children with an opportunity to use water for exploring color and its property…..
We were given markers, watercolors and paint. First, we started off with markers. After we finished using markers we were given paintbrushes, bottles to squeeze and water. We all took turns dipping our paintbrushes in the water then taking it to put it on the spots with marker on it. Then we were given watercolors and that’s when we really started creating. All of us mixed greens, blues, and yellows together to help the colors mesh together. Our teachers gave us bottles to squeeze to help us cover more of the paper with water and colors.
The children were able to have sensory play and explore these materials while working on their motor skills, and observing the changes in colors, and how the water had an effect on the paint and markers.
