Bunches of Ball Fun

On this day the children were more interested in the ball area of the room. A game began when the children were asked to collect the balls in the buckets. They put the balls in order by color. Next they went over to the art table and they counted out loud the amount that was in each bucket. The teacher put out paper and markers the same colors as the balls. We asked them what shape the balls  were, and they replied “circle!”  We counted the balls in the buckets and drew the number of balls we counted. Of course they drew more circles than we actually counted, but they worked on math skills such as to one to one correspondence.  This small project incorporated color, geometry, math, and drawing!
