Light is something you can touch and yet, not really touch. A child might notice that light shines through some objects a lot, others a little, and some not at all.
Infants and toddlers will pull themselves up on the light tables; with each movement they notice how light interacts with and changes different materials.
Our infants explored with the light rope and the light table. We observed them shaking the light, tapping it on the light table, and pulling it down on the ground. Their faces lit up with excitement as they played with this.
The children also explored using bottles filled with colored water and oil, on top of the light table. They shook them, tasted them ;0), and watched as the contents moved inside the bottles.
